    Wait times - accuracy?

I spoke to Centrelink this morning and was told the current wait times for FTB is now 35-40 days.

I'm just wondering if this is what people are actually waiting, or if this is the maximum times to wait and it will be within this time frame.

I lodged June 24 for fortnightly payments and am really needing the letter to confirm the amount.

    TIA.

If you only lodged a new claim on June 24 you won't have it processed yet. 35 days minimum to get it processed.

Oh ad yes, that sounds about right for delay. I've been on hold 11 minutes now and still waiting.

Is this time for all ftb claims ?
Eg claiming for a new child ?
Or making a change to your partners wage which will change your amount you receive ..

Changing your estimate generally won't take that amount of time. There may be a delay if several days though before changes made are reflected in your payments. It will always backdate to the day you contacted though

Sorry I misread the op. I was typing on my phone on hold (to centrelink) and thought you were asking about the time to be answered on the phone (which took me over 45 minutes just now!). But yes, processing is 5-7 weeks at the moment. Every endeavour is made to get as much processing done as possible each week but unfortunately call demand is also very high so people can't be taken off the phones to process claims.
