Skiing in NZ ?????

Does anyone know when the ski season in NZ ends. Thinking of maybe doing a sneaky weekend over there if I can get my 300,000 frequent flyer points to do any work for me. But have DS's birthday end of September and need to try to avoid school hols also. NZ hols appear to be 27th Sept through to 14 October. Is after that too late? Accommodation is way cheaper over there as well as lift passes so though it might be the way to go?

I have already messaged you NW3, but just adding to that list for reference Turoa and Whakapapa in the North Island usually run until the third weekend of October, so a bit later than the Southern fields.
