    Townsville in wet season

So, I'd like to go to Townsville over the christmas break (SIL and family are up there), but DH is against it as he thinks the humidity would be too much.

We would be driving up (from Adelaide) and camping in our camper trailer, in a resort style caravan park.

Is the humidity really that bad at that time of the year?

Would love to hear from anyone who lives in Townsville or surrounds

I live in Brisbane and have been to Townsville January this year and last year..

This year wasn't so bad cause there wasn't a lot of rain (very dry wet season when I was there, I left just before it started).

Last year though, the kids and I spent a lot of time in places that were air conditioned, whether it was home, play centres or shops..

I find the humid heat a lot harder to deal with than dry heat.

Thanks DMB. Yes, the humid heat is definitely harder to deal with than the dry heat! I'm just wondering if it's that bad that you would consider postponing a holiday

If I had the choice of time, yes I would postpone.. (We have been twice this year)

But if that was the only time I could go, then I would tough it out..

Suppose the main difference between heats is drinking lots more water cause it really takes it out of you.

Not the best time to come up here and camp. Wet season just gone was pretty humid but dry. If your not used to the humidity it can be very draining. If it rains alot you could have issues, esp with getting back home; we've been known to get cut off north and south.

If you dont mind heat or being rained out then by all means do it
