I know this has probably been asked before, but I have very limited access to the Internet thanks to Telstra (but that's another story *groan*) so it's easier for me to ask in my own thread. Anyway....
I haven't formally been diagnosed with Endo (currently being treated for dysmenorrhoea & menorrhagia (basically painful and heavy periods)), I'm having an u/s next week to rule out other factors and then from there will most likely be referred for a laparoscopy. Anyway, pain relief... I really hate the idea of taking prescription pain killers, is there any natural things I can take which may help? I am currently taking a mix of pills everyday, including: magnesium & calcium combo, chaste berry (vitex) & liva tone with turmeric (Sandra Cabots). About one week prior to AF I start naproxen and then tramadol usually 1-2 days prior until 1-2 days after, I also take pandadiene forte every 4-6 hours during the day. AF has been getting progressively worse to the point where the tramadol, naproxen and panadiene forte barely take the edge off. The pain is obviously worse during AF, but it also never actually goes. I am in constant pain, especially when I lay on my stomach.
I also have a liver problem which doesn't help, however it's gotten better as I've lost just over 20kgs since Jan, it was thought that my period troubles were due to my weight, however as they are getting worse and my weight better obviously not the case
It's gotten to the point where for an entire week every month I plan nothing and don't go out, if we need milk or bread its too bad, I can't even drive with the pain Please help!
Hi ....endometriosis is not nice is it??? I have it and also adenomyosis (bulky uterus) relative of endo ....
I was on the conconction your on napro panadol and tram but now has it has gotten totally revolting i have Endone 5 mg prn which is increased to 10 mg 2-3 hourly when im in acute pain... plus i had an Merina IUD inserted back in Jan 13 which did help for a little time ...now it is just a bonus for contraceptive reason lol
if your in so much pain honey get yourself to ED for some good narcotic relief as i have and have done so 3 occassions within 3 months last year when they finally decided to really look and do a D&C Hysterscope and insertion of the Merina IUD ( which supposed to help ) ....
How old are you kids ?
And is your DH a support ?
I have an u/s on Tuesday to check for cysts etc, it's a strong possibility as I had my tubes tied 3 years ago. My GP did mention the merina, but I've read that the effectiveness for Endo, pain and heaviness is short lived (some people get heavier periods as a side effect, I'd need a freaking towel every 2-3 hours if that was the case haha).
So the Endone would be the next step from Tramadol? I hate having to rely on them
If I could have driven myself to the ED I would have last AF, I can't even drive with the pain we are about 45kms from the hospital and DH isn't home all that much (truckie/farmer). Our boys are 4 & 6.5
The other thing being confirmed (or not) with the u/s is prolapsed uterus.
