Can anyone please help?
Since I can remember, my 2 year old daughter has tossed and turned and cried out and moaned all night in her sleep. I go in and comfort her but I don’t think she even realises I’m there. This often goes on all night long and I can’t sleep! She doesn’t seem fazed by any of it in the mornings.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do and what this may be? Starts from around 10pm till 4am (generally). I am pregnant and due in a couple of months so really feel like I need to sort this out.
Thanks heaps for the reply... I can turn off the monitor but id still hear her down the hall. I think I just need to be sure she's not in any pain or anything. I even find myself watching and waiting for it stop so I can relax... It makes me on edge that there's something else going on.
I still use the monitor as she's had croup and febrile convulsions recently so I like to keep an eye on her...
Just some suggestions because I have absolutely no experience with sleep disorders, but have you thought about things like sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome? How is she waking in the morning- does she still seem tired after a full nights sleep? If so, I would be seeing my GP and getting some kind of referral to a sleep clinic....
As for the noise itself, what about using white noise in her room or yours? You will still hear the louder call outs and can go to her but it might help to mask the lower level noise, and get you some better sleep.
Hope you find something that works for you.
Oh hon, makes it so hard when there are health issues to worry about as well. I know what it's like to be pregnant and sleep deprived. I hope you get some sleep soon. It's not easy. X
This was my first post and I'm so touched by how lovely you guys are on here, thank you so much!
Hubby away a bit so that's not helping. I have read a bit about night terrors and kinda sounds about right but some of it not quite! I think it might be time for me try a GP and start looking into it, at the very least to rule stuff out. Hopefully she grows out if it soon! Would hate to think its her and not the new baby (or both!) keeping me up all night lol.
