Holiday location ideas North Coast NSW/Gold Coast???
Next March we are taking a family holiday for 3 weeks, leaving about the 2nd March and heading North.
This holiday is going to coincide with my niece's wedding on the 16th March in the Hunter Valley, so we are booked to stay just out of Pokolbin on the nights of the 14th, 15th & 16th March.
I have to be back home by Sunday 23rd March as I have a wedding to perform on the 29th March.
So originally we were planning on doing 1 stop overnight on the way up and then spending a week and a half on the Central Coast which is where I grew up and DH has never been there before. We were then going to drive home via the coast road with a couple of nights in Batemans Bay and then have to stop in Merimbula for a couple of night (my IL's live there currently) and then home.
But IL's are selling up and moving so now we have a change of plan altogether and are now reassessing where we should go for the 2 weeks before the wedding and then on the way home.
I would still like to spend a few days on the Central Coast but now thinking we might do that between the 17th - 21st March and then spend 1 overnight on the way home, this means we pretty much have 2 weeks beforehand to make plans.
I'm thinking we would only go as far north as the Gold Coast (as it would take 3 days to drive) but what about locations on the North Coast - Port Macquarie/Coffs Harbour etc. I have no idea what would be better for the kids, DD will be 4 1/2 and the twins will be 2mths shy of 3 when we go.
I've been to all these places before when I was young so they would have changed ALOT, so any recommendations on where would be a good place to stay and also if you know of any family friendly accommodation as well that would be helpful.
East's Ocean Shores Big4 at Manning Point is lovely. Beachside (you can drive on the beach if you have a 4wd), sensational pool, quiet location. I haven't stayed in one of the cabins (we have a caravan) but I can't imagine they would be bad given the attention to detail the rest of the park has.
We stayed at both Treasure Island Big4 and paradise resort last trip to the Gold Coast. Loved both, the resort had a kids club which meant we had time to ourselves but the caravan park was friendly and catered for kids too.
