    Is an e-card appropriate

My dad and I have a very poor relationship, we basically communicate a few times a year via facebook comments. This year he turns 60. I gave up fussing over his birthday yeaes ago because he always forgets my eldest's birthday which is just 24 hours after his. He also hasn't sent a card, gift or phone call to us in the last 4 years including for all my kids birthdays and Christmas and for my tenth anniversary and 30th birthday. I don't care for me but it sucks my kids don't remember they have a grandad still living

Anyway my question is, would an e-card be enough for his birthday or should I go the whole hog and send him an actual card?

Nothing at all wrong with e-cards in my book, whatever your relationship with your dad. It is the thought that counts and I am not sure that sending a bit of card round the world (assuming he is in UK) is necessary.

Thanks that's reassuring I've picked a nice one I think he will enjoy anyway

I think good idea. I agree it is the thought that counts. Plus good for the planet too

I would send him a proper, real card seeing it is his 60th birthday. I believe it is good to go the extra mile despite the level of the friendship. Hope you work something out....(I use ecards for my overseas friends...)
