DD has slept over 16 hrs today????

DD2 for the past 5 plus weeks has been ok sleep wise, she is 7 weeks on Friday, she was however only cat napping during the day with 15-60 min sleeps and then about 3-4 hrs at night. We have had some really unsettled days/weeks where she won't go to sleep in her cradle but only if she is on our chest or in my arms. DD1 just turned 5 so its been awhile between babies so last night I googled and refreshed myself with the idea of routines and how long a newborn her age should be awake etc.
So this morning she woke, I fed her she had a little play time and about 50 minutes after her awake time I wrapped her up and put her in the cradle and she put herself to sleep for a 2 hr nap. She woke again and had a feed and then just over an hour from when she woke I again wrapped her and put her in the cradle and she again put herself to sleep but this time she slept 4.5hrs before I started to worry and woke her up. I gave her a bath and feed and within 40 mins she looked tired again so I put her back to bed and she has been asleep about 3 hrs at the time I'm writing this.
Is she just catching up on the sleep she has been missing as I was not attune to her needs and focusing more on her feeding than making sure she was getting enough sleep??? I feel like maybe she has just been tired in those days we have just thought she was unsettled. I'm also wondering if she has just been tired and it may be a contributing factor to our bf issues.

She has a checkup with paed on Friday but I guess I'm after some reassurance she is ok sleeping this long - she should wake for a feed soon but I don't know if I should let her sleep or wake her up.

I would say she is having a growth spurt.

My dd is now almost 5 months and when she goes through a growth spurt she has a day or two where she feeds often (almost constantly demand BF) then feels like she sleeps for a day or two.

Yep I would say growth spurt too. All that fussing is often her trying to get more milk production happening. Crying, feeding lots and being held all help stimulate your milk. Now she has enough she can rest before the cycle starts all over again!
