    What is going on?

Yesterday was day 14 of my cycle. I started spotting old/dark/brownish blood. As the afternoon wore on there was less on the toilet paper when I wiped. It's the middle of the night now and there's more again and some crampy feelings. I'm dead certain I'm supposed to be ovulating, not bleeding. Is this the world's shortest cycle or something more sinister?

Could it just be ovulation cramping and spotting? I've never experienced it but have been on here a while now and seen many women do get that?

I guess it could be but I've never had it before and right now I'm cramping more than I did 14 days ago when AF was here.

I never used to have ovulation spotting, but I"m finding now that I'm getting older I will have it probably every 2-3 cycles. If this is new for you, I would note it down and be aware of it for next time kwim? It's probably nothing sinister, but the more aware you are of your cycles and any changes, it's easier to help pinpoint if there is a problem later on.

It was a bit more than spotting in the end. It got quite heavy and thick/clotty for 2 days (sorry TMI) and then trailed off for 2. I would've called it a new cycle but FF reckons it's mid-cycle.

I'm on Micronor mini-pill, but I have been ever since I had DD and no bleeding mid-cycle until now?

extra bleeding can be a side effect of the minipill. there have been a few threads about it lately.
