I need to do it. I've had a novel idling in the wings since I conceived DD.

What are you working on Peanutter?

    Join in!! Join in!!

I actually woke up from a crazy dream I'm still piecing together but which I think might work really well as a young adult novella ... A little sci fi which is totally not my standard thing but I'm feeling quite inspired!!

    You two?

I'm sort of extending and combining two short stories into a novel. One I wrote a few years ago and the second is new but there's lots of shared, recurring themes.

I've already started so technically I won't be participating fairly but my aim is to have it finished by end of November!

Ok so what are we reading right now to inspire and get us into tip top writing mode? I'm reading Alain de Botton's Religion for Atheists and Alex Miller's Journey to the Stone Country. Have mixed reviews about the latter so far. He knows how to tell a story but sometimes the writing style bores me.

I'm reading chick lit - Chasing Harry Winston.

I'm tossing up whether to start a new piece I have had spring into mind in the past week, or whether to do a collection I've been ruminating over since last year ...

    Decisions decisions ...

Either way, I want to start this weekend.

Trying to get a good head start. Especially since Blizzcon is next week and that will take up some of my free time watching lol.

So far my "head start" is 187 words. Guess it is a start.

I've decided I'm going to try. 50,000 is a lot to get through in one month, though :/
I've started 4 books, (sort of) finished one so far. Hopefully they'll get better as I go along.
