Extended family holiday destination suggestions?

Can anyone suggest some great holiday destinations on the east coast for 10 adults and 4 kids under 4. (My parents, myself and 3 siblings with partners and kids)

Price isn't an issue (thanks Dad!) but it has to be big enough so that people who don't get on dont need to interact much.

I'm thinking that it needs to be a resort type thing but have no idea where to start looking.

What about the whitsundays, so many nice islands lots of fun things to do.
We went to Coffs harbour and stayed in a gorgeous resort Aanuka Beach resort. Lots to see and do there we had so much fun (kids were 4 and 1/2 and nearly 3)

What about renting a big house (or maybe two close to each other)?
I went to Port Douglas last year for a girls only holiday and it was glorious! Lots to do there, but also lots to do if you can drive a little way as well- the Daintree, Great Barrier reef, tonnes of beaches and coastline. I want to go back with my family.
