What is the current fine rate now for parking in NO PARKING area

DH dropped me off at pharmacy to pick up meds for my mum, he turned into the laneway and sat for 2 mins and a p/oficer who was ahead of me in pharmacy saw him and fined him. He knows he was in wrong...we will wait for fine but anxious 2 know what we are up for.

Was it "No Parking" or "No Stopping"? I've got familiar with our local ticket lady who is on a crusade against parking in Kiss and Drop zones. No Parking means you can stay for up to 5 minutes if you don't step away from the car. No Stopping means just that.
So if it was in No Parking you can contest it.

No idea, but I thought if a police officer issued you a fine, you got it on the spot. I have not been pulled over, except for random breath tests, so could be way off with my thoughts.

I thought the only ones you had to 'wait' for are camera ones?

it is $232 for no standing and $101 for no parking.....I just found out...but dh says he was there 2-3 minutes....they tell me I can review it online after I get the fine.....I can dispute it as I am a carer and was picking up eye drops for mum anDH is on compo after work injury.....still on light duties and had to get to work. I don't drive...still we broke the law.

Tofu he might have let you off and used scare tactics. Otherwise he could just issue you an on the spot fine.

I got pulled over once for running an amber light and i knew i did the wrong thing. The officer gave me a huge lecture and said expect a fine in the mail but he never actually sent one.

Ive definitely learnt my lesson as ive never broke the law before or after that!

If the policeman was just out and about, he wouldn't have had a ticket book on him, so would have gotten the details and post it later.
The Infringement Processing Bureau doesn't care about injuries, being a carer. To dispute it you will need to go to court and explain to a magistrate.
Laneways are usually No Standing as they are usually limited visibility in and out and tight for space so the risk of accident is great when people just stop a short way into them.
