Is there anything I need/should be doing...

before bub #2 arrives? For centeelink that is.

I know I could call and ask but honestly, just the thought of spending an hour on the phone waiting for someone to answer while DS suddenly desperately needs something is enough to give me a headache. Lol

I currently recieve parenting payment partnered and Ftb.

Are you planning to claim ppl or baby bonus? Do you already receive ftb for ds

If baby bonus and you already get ftb, nothing to do. If ppl or if you don't already claim ftb you need to do an online claim. Can be done up to three months before edd

Really? I went to do my ppl application and it said that if I already receive ftb then I just need to fill in a 'newborn something something' form (yup, totally what it's called ) and I gathered com that there was nothing to do 'till after bubs arrives???

BG, is there a form that has to be filled out after birth for centrelink (FTB and BB)? I'm not going through a hospital, and my birth worker won't have the forms this time. I understand that i have to apply for the birth certificate first, and then submit this to centrelink and do their application (not sure what this bit is yet).

Yeah I already get PPP and FTB. I will be claiming Baby Bonus. So I just wait til bub is here and fill in the forms then?

When I was pregnant with DS I was unable to work so was recieving Newstart (or whatever it used to be called) with medical exemption from looking for work. So I was in constant communication with them. It feels odd not even telling them Im pregnant this time. I feel like Im forgetting something.

I did check the website but couldnt find anything about before bub arrives.

When I was pregnant with DD3 I was receiving FTB A + B. I didn't have to do anything until she was born. Just took the form I was given at hospital with her birth details to Medicare and they processed a new card + all my FAO stuff. I've not ever contacted Centrelink since she arrived and that's 4.5 months!

Yeah Santosha. You have to claim ppl online.

HotI. There is a form that works be provided by hospital etc. if you don't have that due to home birth you will need to register bubs birth with births deaths as marriages first and then provide the birth certificate as proof of birth. It will delay your application. Im not honestly sure what the process is if you need to do it early because the hospital form or birth cert tend to be the only proof of birth I real with.

Yeah Calluna. If you get ftb and are claiming baby bonus, you just supply the firm you get from the hospital. If you have the app on iPhone or smart phone you may even be able to lodge through that

I'm on leave for a week. Ill check with a colleague when I get back. I think you will need to sign something to be able to claim but not sure exactly what they would need.

Can I ask why she isn't able to this time?
