    Sports bras suitable for breastfeeding?

    Hi everyone,
I'm about to return to the gym after the birth of my son and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on a sports bra that might be suitable while I'm breastfeeding?

I am a large bust size and fear that a 'crop top' won't suffice but I can't seem to find any others that don't have an underwire.

Would it be okay to wear a normal sports bra for the time I'm at the gym and then come home and change back to wirefree nursing one?

I'm probably over thinking it but I don't want to do anything to jeapordise my milk supply etc

    Thanks in advance

I can't do wire-free bras. At all. All my feeding bras have wire, as do my sports bras. I've never had an issue and in 6 years of breastfeeding, never had so much as a hint of mastitis.

I think it can be done.

I have a wireless bf sports bra. It's ok, not as good as my heavy duty wired bra but was fine for my aerobics type class. I think it was Berlei? I bought it at a factory outlet.

    LOL Tell me about it!!
I don't know if you have had supply issues, or underlying things that make you concerned for your supply, but my supply has never been affected by my bra. Just make sure it actually fits you properly and the wire is wide enough to encircle your breast, rather then cut into it.

Oh wow Amaunet I will have to search thanks for the tip.

LimeSlice I had some trouble getting feeding established and suffer anxiety so I tend to over analyze and think if I do a, then b, c and d may happen. Just a worrywart I think. I figure a properly fitted wired bra would have to be better for me than bouncing around while trying to jog etc?

I went back when DD2 was 9 weeks old and I'd just take my heavy duty bra in my handbag and pop it on right before I started and then take it off at the end. I'm not tiny either and I never had an issue.

I used one from Best & Less. Best bra I think I've ever had! I used it for a while after I finished breastfeeding too. No underwire though.
