I dunno. I guess you could give them a quick rinse in a bucket of water first?

Just asked my DH, he suggested shaking as much off as you can first. Or hose them off if you have one.

We are in the middle of a full house Reno and our clothes regularly go in the machine with cement dust on them, no problems with the machine here

Is it cement dust or concrete dust?

Cement - a component of concrete that when added to gravel and water will react and turn into concrete.

If it's just dust from sawing through a concrete slab, then it would be fine in the machine. If it's cement dust because he's been working at a cement factory all day, then yes, I'd shake it out, give it a rinse before putting them through the machine.

I'd pre rinse then to be on the super safe side, but, the amount of water in the washing machine would be far more than needed to actually have cement react with it and have cement set through your machine so it shouldn't be a problem.
