Hello. I have just had my third little man born on the 7th of October visa planned c-section. Ds3 was 3.555kgs, 48cm long and head circumference of 36cm. Feeding is going well and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet in hospital.

    Hi MM.

ds3 was born after a 4hr spontaneous vaginal birth 6 October. Feeding is also going well, though settling has become worse. I have no idea what I'm doing, as he is our only living child. He's currently asleep on my chest. I know I should put him down and go back to bed, but he's currently feeding every 2 hours so he'll be due for the next one soon. I'm also trying to let DH get a block of sleep. We've been swapping shifts at night settling. Whilst I had a short nap today, DH didn't. We're both incredibly fatigued, though we know it's only to be expected.

    Hiya girls.

    I had a 4hr svd on the 6th too L&B. How funny.
Im on my second take home babe and have no idea what Im doing either. I dont think it ever really gets any easier best we can do is wing it.

DD is feeding and and sleeping beautifully so far. Hoping she might be an "easy" baby as DS was.. er.. not.. but at the same time, Im waiting for it to all fall apart.

Well we have our first Mchn appointment in about half an hour. Fun times. Took Ds3 back to the hospital this morning cause I was concerned his jaundice was getting worse. They checked him out and said he looked fine and to just keep up his fluids and try and get him some sun. Easier said than done in Melbourne where it appears that we've returned to winter :-).

In other news Ds3 had terrible wind last night and after finally getting him settled at 11 he slept on my chest till 3.45. Woke, cried for another 20 mins, had a feed then slept next to me till 7.30 this morning when his brothers woke him up!

How's life going for everyone else?

Boo still has jaundice & our health nurse said the same thing lol
It's mostly on his face now but he is still pretty yellow. It's the first thing people comment on after they say how teeny he is.

Boo has horrible wind at the moment, he has barely slept today.
Thank goodness for our close carrier.

Hiya girls. Sorry to hear about the jaundice stress. Ds had it and only just escaped being put under lights.

We had our midwife come out yesterday, little miss is now 3.34kg - 100 off her birthweight at 8 days old. No idea how much she lost to begin with as this was her first weigh since birth.
Its a bit awkward when he comes because she is doing fine and I have no questions so we just kind sit there lol I feel like Im wasting his time a bit but I like the reassurance all the same. He said he'll be away for the next visit so it will be someone else from the team. Hoping I get the midwife that delivered her.

DFs first day back at work today. We rocked it. It was so much easier without him here interfering with our routine. Everything just fell into place perfectly.

    How is everyone else doing?

Only just found this thread, I hadn't seen it yet!

Our DS was born in just under 3 hours on 21/10 after induction. He's been doing brilliantly, he's very chilled and has worked out the day/night thing so we're getting more awake time during the day.

Only issue is, he'll have a decent first sleep - 3-4 hours, then he'll only feed on one side. No matter what I do he just will not take the other side. But then he'll wake anywhere from 10-60 minutes later wanting it. I'm thinking I'll have to change his nappy and re-wrap him after the first side to wake him up enough for it.

Tonight he also has severe wind. It's now 5am and he's been in pain since 3:30 I was pretty useless at helping him, he just kept trying to feed which was making things worse and he wasn't getting anything out. DH has taken him and he's done some farts and fallen asleep, but not game to put him down yet. He's still gurgling.

So here I am awake and unable to sleep because tonight we've realised there's something in our roof and it's making awful annoying noises above our bedroom.

I had a baby boy on 29/10 c section because I have many rare medical conditions.
He is my first boy after two amazing girls.
We are on day 9 today and so far he is perfection
He sleeps well at night doesn't take much to settle but we have him in our bed which is easier than settling him in the bassinet.

He has the worst nappy rash I've ever encountered none of my girls got it bad ever so been heartbreaking watching his little bottom bleed its do raw
Got a heap of different creams and it appears to be getting a bit better. I hope it does soon as we have done super cute newborn cloth to get on his bottom!!

I not in any October groups at the moment as I was due 14 November so if anyone could add me to Facebook one that would be good? K elly W ylie

Hey Duchess, you arent using huggies fragrance free wipes by any chance? They gave my DD a red raw bleeding rash after using them for 2 days.

We use home brand fragrance free wipes but we did have a sample pack of the Huggies ones and Johnson and Johnson ones from the hospital
May have to get out the cloth wipes and some water, i usually just use cloth wipes with cloth and disposables with store wipes

It started getting red in the hospital and started bleeding day 4/5 at home

I wonder if they have the same ingredients. Definately go the cloth wipes. Cheaper too.

Hey Duchess Bugger about the nappy rash! I've been using the Huggies fragrance free wipes with no issues - not using the cloth ones yet because my cloth nappies are still too big and I don't wanna wash a tiny load of poopy wipes on their own lol. Good to hear it's clearing up though.

We've gotten over our wind issues here, DS settles really easily and our nights are good. I still can't quite believe just how easy he is!

ETA: Had our midwife appointment today, little man now weighs 5.14kgs - has put on 390 grams in 7 days! And his head has grown 1cm in the same time.

    Hi Duchess & welcome
DD2 had that same problem, didn't matter what wipes we used she would blister up & bleed.
We used cloth wipes on her & pretty much used them all the time now.

Oh I'll give you Baxter's stats
    He was born 37+5
    He was 53cm, 8lb3oz or 3.713kg

I had a c section so even full term it wouldn't have mattered how big he was but being over 8lb at 37+5 surprised me
I thought he would be 7 pound something
