    Spotting at 21+3

This belongs in the tmi section but I'm just wondering.......

Yesterday morning I was home alone (woohoo!) so I had some alone time & went about my day. I had a lot of tightening in my belly during the day & about mid afternoon I was having period type cramping & started feeling pretty blah.
Last night DP & I DTD in our normal way but with a bit more passion & afterwards there seemed to be an excess of fluid (it had been a week so maybe it was stockpiled lol) & when I went to the loo in the low light it looked like blood had seeped onto my undies so I did the mad dash to the light switch & was relieved to find it was just a lot of moisture.
About 2am I woke up feeling very uncomfortable in the tummy, tossed & turned & debated getting the hot water bottle for my tummy which was aching. When I finally fell back asleep I was woken by a sharp pain in my right hip/ribs area that actually made me gasp when I rolled over in my sleep.
This morning there was brown blood in my undies

I'm seeing the midwife on Tuesday so I will definitely be asking her but wanted to put it out there in BB land & see what advice the wise ladies have to offer. I'm not overly stressed, more curious as to what it could be. TIA.

the bleeding doesn't sound too worrisome, but the pain (if it is new) sounds a bit unusual, because of the severity. can you rest up for a day or two?

    take care

The pains new & I still feel off colour but not nauseated like yesterday. I've put a liner on today just so I can see if there's anymore spotting. Thanks HotI

TickToc how worrying for you lovely. I hope the midwife catch up throws some light on it. Could be that baby is moving around, a complete 360 perhaps which can cause discomfort but it is not normally prolonged. Or could be a UTI... those are really stabs in the dark, it could be any number of things. X

Thanks LL, I'm having more of a hmmm why is this happening than a OMG what's going on reaction which is nice. Just taking it slow today. Feeling very irritated 'down there', almost hot & bruised feeling so maybe an infection?? Who knows. Definitely won't be DTD again before seeing the midwife that's for sure!

you could ring the birth suite and talk to a midwife, probably advisable to let them know you had spotting and cramping just for reassurance.

I hope your feeling better today tic toc? I have had those sharp type pains rolling over in bed before. I have out it down to the muscles/weight/stretching etc etc.
please get checked though as I am sure your midwife would want to hear about any bleeding even if it's minimal.

Just saw the midwife, she wasn't concerned at all - just put it down to irritation of the cervix & my "bits". The cramping she said is probably BH & the sharp pain is stretching/pulling from belly growing.
I still feel a bit tender but not like thrush so I might ask the GP to do a swab on Tuesday when I see her. It does almost feel like a UTI but without the pain when I pee.

    Thanks for your concern ladies

Maybe drink some cranberry juice just in case it is a UTI.

I used to be good LL & drink a glass every morning but since being on the iron tablets I've swapped to fresh OJ in the morning to aid absorption. Maybe I'll have to put it on the menu for afternoon tea?
I decided that how I feel below is best described as 'saddle sore' - like I've been riding a bike with a sticking up seat lol

That sounds like your pelvic/pubic bits stretching.

Well I think it's thrush causing the discomfort - there's no discharge but we just DTD & ouchies! I definitely have a burning sensation. Lucky I have a GP appt on Tuesday.
