Our family always has a big breakfast in the mornings on Christmas day. That way the afternoon is clear for the in laws or in my case work.
There are a few that won't eat bacon and one that won't eat eggs plus a diabetic and a prego. There will be 18 including kids.
Usually we try to have a mini buffet type set up.
Any suggestions? So far I've got German pancakes and that's it.
I've hosted a Christmas eve breakfast / brunch for a few years now, this is the type of thing i serve (keeping in mind it is generally hot here at Christmas):
-Champagne and coffee
-Cold marinated chicken wings
-Summer fruit platter
-Peaches or pears stewed whole in a cinnamon syrup
-brioche
-muffins
-cold ham/meats
-yoghurt
We always do Japanese Slipper ****tails on Christmas morning with a cherry garnish (green & red for Christmas)
Definitely do a fresh fruit salad
Maybe a bricher muesli with fresh yoghurt
Scones with jam and cream
Banana bread or date loaf
Grilled pears filled with ricotta and dried apricots topped with yoghurt
Hash browns
