Hi,
As the subject line says, I had my implanon removed 10 weeks ago and haven't had a period yet. I'm not pregnant either, I just did a eBay hpt which says it detects 10miu.
I had the implanon in for 18mths. It was inserted straight after my son was born, and I didn't have a period the whole time it was in, so I haven't had a period for about 2.5yrs. Prior to that my cycles were 29 days like clockwork.
We want another baby, and I know it might take a few cycles to conceive (bub#1 took 3 cycles) but I'm in limbo now.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
How long after removing your implanon did it take for regular cycles to resume?
How long did it take to get pg?
Thanks!
Everyone is different. I've never used the implanon, but I use the depo shot every 3 months. I've found the longer I'm on the depo regularly, the longer it takes to go out of my system & for my body to go back to normal. It took me 11 months to conceive DS after my last injection wore off. But I wasn't really trying at the time.
Give it some time & hopefully things will be back to normal soon You may possibly start out with irregular periods when it does happen, while your body sorts itself out.
Hi
I've just come across this post in another one of my "no sleep" night time internet searching lol. Anyway, I had the Implanon out on 24th Sep started light pink/brown spotting on the 27/28th of Oct.
I'm currently on CD 34/35 and have no distinctive symptoms either way so I'm thinking maybe that I still have some of the hormones playing havoc with me.
Hi Kalina,
I finally got my period on 20/11, almost 3 months to the day after my implanon was removed. I always thought one of the pros of implanon was that your fertility returns almost immediately, but it seems that's not always the case. I wonder what this cycle will be like?
Thanks for the reply, I hope you get back to normal soon.
Oh wow! I think I'd have just about strangled someone if I'd had to wait that long. I was under the assumption that it returned quite quickly too. CD36 for me and still nothing.
Are you TTC?
Mine took about 2 months to come after removal. I too thought that the benefit was that it was out of your system as soon a sit was removed. I was really surprised.
