Do bath crayons stain the bath?

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if the bath crayons I've seen around the place stain the bath? What exactly are they made of?

Thinking of getting some to put in the boy's xmas stockings.

Your thoughts and experiences are appreciated

I don't have the packaging anymore for ours so can't say what ours are made of but can say that they have stained the bath in places - it tends to be when DD has done a circle or big line - it fades but you can still see a faint line which then continues to fade over time. We have tried using a number of things to get it off.

OUr bath is a very old (installed in the 1940s) and is a blue bath - not sure how they would go on a white bath or if the staining is because of the age of the bath. We don't mind about the staining and as I said it has faded over time (some of the earlier ones we can't see anymore)

DDs favourite thing at the moment is to draw on herself with them - sometimes they slightly stain her skin so she comes out of the bath not as clean as she went in LOL but she has fun and that is the main thing

DD had some and they didn't stain the bath, but they did get into the spaces between the tiles on the wall, which I now cannot clean for the life of me (she didn't contain her art to the bath, had to do the wall too... ). Luckily our bathroom is 1) old, and 2 ) painted in an orange/yellow scheme, so a few orange/red stains between the tiles don't stand out, but if you have a very modern, clean, sparkling bathroom it could be an issue...

Exit mould spray is great for getting hair dye out of grout so I'd imagine it'd work with bath crayons as well.

I've had no problem with them - my kids love them. Our bath is about 10 - 15 years old and is white.

I've heard they stain too. I searched 'homemade bath crayons' online and found a few recipes that DS can help make too - just melted glycerine soap and food colouring (one added essential oils for aroma). Apparently they won't stain. Just another thing on my to do list now

Was going to see if I could find some Christmas moulds and make Christmas shapes, otherwise the long stick ice cube trays will do.

Don't do it!!! They are soooo annoying.

However, I used Ajax the cream cleaner and got all mine off so no they didn't stain.
