    Cross Fit

    Who does CrossFit?
I've been watching the cross fit games over the last few weeks and I found a box nearby that will let me buy 10 visit passes so I can add a cross fit session to my training.
So excited but kinda irritated because my shoulder is buggered so I need to rest and heal before I can start and I'm not coping with the resting.

I have a friend who does it competitively, I can get you two in context if you want someone to chat with

I started CrossFit in Feb/March this year, and have absolutely loved it! It's helped me lose a lot of weight (20kg since December), and after a life of not enjoying exercise, everyone around me is surprised at how much I enjoy doing it. I am still slow, and can't do much of the gymnastics movements (I'm still obese, so that doesn't help!), but I LOVE the weight-lifting. Nothing better than being able to deadlift more than I weigh

Have you actually been in to the box and spoken to the coaches? If they are decent coaches, they should be able to modify workouts to your needs, so you would do a different movement or a lighter weight to other people, while building up the muscles around your shoulder.

Competing is awesome. I have done one individual competition, and the first round of WODstock competition this year, and have had a blast! Even if you aren't competing yourself, it is an awesome day to go and cheer on your box-mates, and have a good perve while you're at it

Thanks. The shoulder problem is bursitis so I really struggle with overhead lifting. I can do pull-ups and chin ups ok but the second I lift above my head or put a bar on my shoulders I'm in a world of hurt.
