We've got a black treeI love it! It's just the one from Big W that you see in their catalogue - this will be the 3rd year with it.
What sort of Christmas tree do you have, and why?
We upgraded to a bigger bushier one a few years back and it looks gorgeous but it has been a PITA. It's too wide, the branches are so low that you can't really get the presents underneath it, and the actual branch bits are tricky to get the decoes onto. And the box is huge, so it's a pain to store.
Thinking of lashing out on a new slimmer one

We get a real one. Don't have an artificial one any more.
We make a day of it. Go out to the tree farm, select our tree (try to convince DH not to go to big, the man cuts it down and we bring it home. When Christmas is over, it goes in the goats paddock.
I think DH loves the process of selecting the tree more so than having one. I find decoration can be a bit hard to get on and stay on, but it does smell nice.
We have the big bushy kindWe got it last year because DD was getting more into Christmas and we were hosting, I wanted something better than the tiny cheap one we had.
It was a pain in the butt to set up, because each branch goes in separately. We didn't want to have to do that again so now the tree is basically set up in three pieces in the office, taking up loads of room. That part sucks, but other than that I love it. It looks beautiful, fits all our decorations and lights and stuff![]()
We have a big bushy white one, it's great & we love it.
We have had it 6yrs & it's still in excellent condition.
We don't get presents under it, each kid has a Santa sack the presents go in instead.
Had a real one every year since I was born![]()
We have a big bushy green one that we bought for our first Christmas living together. It has withstood the test of time (9 years) and the big draw card for me is that it was pre-lit so I don't have to struggle with the endless strings of lights.
DH grumbles about the tree every year! says it's too big, too hard to store, too tall etc etc - but I know deep down that he loves every minute of it!!!
I bought us a spruce (Norwegian Spruce, I think?) in a pot a few years ago. Each year it gets bushier and this time of year it has new shoots, so the ends of the branches are light green. It goes outside into the garden after Christmas and has survived 3 house moves! I love our living Christmas tree that grows every year![]()
We have an 8ft big bushy one. I get Christmas tree decoration envy though, because everyones decorated tree looks so much better than mine. I just don't have the knack for it LOL. The box of ours is in the ceiling and we just pull the bits out of the box every year and hand them down, and then back up after xmas.
My folks have a real one.
I have a plastic 90cm one because I hate cleaning up after them.
When I was pregnant with Buster I *had* to have the biggest tree I could findSo it is a fake one but is a very nice looking fake one, very bushy and lots of branches to put all our decos. It is close to 9 foot high and also has a nice big area underneath for all the pressies. It is a pain to store but I love it, and everytime I see it I laugh about my crazy pregnant lady antics!
I'm another black tree girl. And only silver and red decorations.
Family used to celebrate Christmas and we had the weirdest but best tree (it had a lot of happy n funny memories), during my teen years after my parents split we never celebrated Christmas.. Then after I had my DD My dad did the strangest thing EVER, he went out to the shops, bought the BIGGEST, BUSHIEST Christmas tree he could find, tonnes of decorations and went to town on it, begged us to let him host Christmas at his place (after we hadn't celebrated Christmas in nearly 10 years!).. That year was probably my favourite year ever, hilarious too (dad's Angel/Star on the top was a squeaking monkey dog toy!)..
These years we take different turns and all three of us have different tree's, My sister inherited our family tree and Decorations, My dad has his massive bushy tree (which stays up and decorated all year round in the spare room!) and my tree (8ft, pretty bushy, but pita with putting all branches in one by one) with part store decorations and part home made ones.. We change colour themes every year, so someone gets to pick which colour theme we do each year, family decorations stay the same, but we buy different colour balls, tinsel etc in whichever is the colour of that Christmas![]()
Ours is big and wide but it comes in three sections with the branches already attached. You just connect the trunk. It has lights built in which I love. It kinda looks real. If you squint, tilt your head, poke your tongue out, stand on one leg, and wave your arms like you're trying to fly. No. It actually looks really nice. We love it. Got it from big w about 6 years ago.
We have a fake bushy one. The ends are a lighter green than the rest. As far as fake goes, it's beautiful. We've had it for about 5 years.
Real ones make me sneeze and get the sniffles. I love the idea of going with the kids to choose and cut down a tree though so I'll suck it up one year lol.
Someone I know has four fake trees. They alternate them each year!
