    Proof of Birth

I have just lodged our claim for baby bonus for this baby.

It says I have to provide proof of birth/existence for dd1 by x date if I have not already done so previously.

Now we received paid parental level for dd1, which we obviously had to provide proof of birth for to receive (I think, it's all a blur now). Does that mean I don't have to do this now again?

Also it said I didn't have to provide an income estimate. Why would this be?

And thirdly, it says to be eligible we cannot earn as a family more than 75k in the 6 months following the birth. How do they work this out? We don't know what we have earnt until tax time.

    TIA

    Re: Proof of Birth

If you have given proof of birth for DD1, as you say you have, then you do not have to provide it again. You have "already done so previously".

Don't know why they don't want an income estimate if your earnings are taken into account. No idea how it's worked out, sorry. Maybe on a payback system?

R u sure u haven't applied for baby bonus for dd1 instead of DD2 by mistake. I've started my papers for bub#2 and right at the start is says r u claiming benefit for "ds1" - if answer no, it asks u to add a new child? (basic wording not exact lol)

As for salary I can't help I'm claiming ppl and I def have to provide estimates for the coming financial year.

    Re: Proof of Birth

If you are claiming ftb for dd1 it will ask for evidence/proof if birth if the way you have typed her name is different to how it appears in the fao system. For instance, my dd has two middle names. But fao system only reads one when doing an online claim and will ask for proof of birth every time we claim anything. If you have previously supplied it, don't fret

With the bb estimate, you have to estimate. If your estimate is over a certain amount (60k I think) fur the six months immediately after edd you will be asked to provide evidence. This can be payslips showing regular income, letter from accountant for self employed person, with an estimate of earnings etc. if you aren't sure whether you will be above it below that threshold you can wait until after you've done your taxes to claim bb to make sure you don't go over

This is what I thought BG, but when it came to the estimate income page online it says you are not required to provide an estimate?

I have no idea. We don't claim ftb or anything. First time I used the system was for dd with ppl.

Thoroughly confused. And when I rang centre link there was a half hour wait.

    Re: Proof of Birth

If you aren't claiming ftb you won't need an estimate at all. Without looking at the claim I can't say for sure why it asked for proof of north fur dd1. Maybe have a look again at your claim and make sure you didn't opt to claim for both kids
