    Red face Infant sleeping bags

    Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for summer bags sleeping bags for a ten month old.
I have been using Plum single layer muslin sleeping bags, but our originals ripped within a week, and now my replacements are ripping as well. Clearly the fabric is not meant to stand up to a ten month old! I think they are ripping when lo is awake in his cot, and up on all fours as we are learning to crawl etc.
Has anyone had any success with muslin sleeping bags? I have looked at other brands, but I am reluctant to spend more money, as I'm thinking that the same thing will just happen again!
I am keen to continue with the sleeping bags as DS sucks the top to go to sleep. I know I will have to stop eventually.
As a side question, has anyone had any experience with using sleeping bags at childcare. DS starts in a month, and I'm wondering if I am going to get the eye roll when I tell them that he sleeps in one during the day.

    Thanks ladies!

I have a muslin gro bag and I randomly picked up a $15 t-shirt material one from big w which has been awesome!
The gro bag will be better for when it's really hot but the cheapy is good for 25 degree day sleeps with just a singlet on.

Aden and Anais do beautiful summer muslin bags that stood up to the dancing climbing monkey test that was DD last summer. We also have a cheap cotton one by Snug Time (Myer) that is nice and light though for really hot nights I prefer muslin.

We like the Grobags. In childcare they should be happy that you are bringing what your LO has at home because it will help them to settle him to sleep. It will also smell like home which is another bonus.

I used sleeping bags at child care no dramas. Didn't even ask, just told them "here's his sleeping bag, he has one sleep, use this".

Also, I've got grobags - 0.5 tog for summer/hot days. It's what I use when we have the 35+ degree days. We never used muslin ones. The grobags have last exceptionally well. I've replaced the winter ones (being Melbourne that's the one I use the most - 2.5 tog) but the three lighter weight ones have lasted three kids and still going strong.

    Re: Infant sleeping bags

I've only used 'cheapies' from Big W and Myer and all have been great. They're made out of t-shirt material and the Myer ones were 0.5 tog rated. We also had a couple of Pumpkin Patch ones...think they were tog rated (0.5/1.0 from memory). One was fine but the other had all the press studs fray/break off within a few weeks. DS used sleeping bags from about 6months to 2.5 years.

Can't help with the daycare qu though as he only ever wore them at night.
