    Presents for teachers!

    What are you giving yours?

I'm thinking some home made strawberry jam (easy with my Thermomix ) but I want something else, a personal touch from the kids.

    Ideas??

Oh such a nightmare... Want to give them something nice but I don't even know how many teachers there are at daycare!

Potted succulent? Anything with chocolate is easy in thermomix? Gingerbread bikkies?

I never have had luck with sterilising jars for jam!

What? Seeing my sons once a week is not enough?

If I had a thermomix, I would make salted caramel fudge, and lime curd.

I do not have a thermomix.

I got some pencil boxes made from recycled milk cartons, and DD painted them. She picked some funky pens and highlighters and erasers with the letter of the teacher's names, and they went in the pencil boxes.

DD picked everything, and i think it's really cute.

    Re: Presents for teachers!

We gave DS' teachers one of DH's awesome (if he does say so himself!) homemade Christmas Puds and DS made a Santa card made with a handprint, goggle eyes and stickers.

My fave gifts from kids were handmade things like decorated photo frames, coasters, mugs, pencil pots, smelly sachets, jewellery. One extremely talented mum hand sewed me a cushion with a beautiful quote on it when I had Bub. Food always goes down well, though I do know a few teachers who refused to eat food given by kids unless they knew and trusted the parents, lol!!

And a nice thank you message from a parent/child is always appreciated (and often shared proudly with other teachers in the staff room as we are chuffed at our hard work being acknowledged).

We're giving yo yo biscuits to DD1's kinder teachers and we gave a Pandora charm with music notes to her music teacher (she's taught DD1 for three years).

We're giving DD2's teacher a double-walled travel mug, after she was overheard one day saying she never got to drink her coffee while it's still hot!

These are a few thoughts from a teachers home -

Home made goodies are always welcome as you get very sick of chocolate after a while. Plants or veggies are good. Interesting books.

Hankies & socks pile up after a bit.

When my girls were at school my rule was, if I wouldn't want to get it, neither would they.

My kids are taking mini bourbon Christmas cakes. I've made 24 of them this year. By the time the teachers and colleagues for myself and DH get one each I think there won't be any left. Lol.

    Presents for teachers!

We gave DD's preschool teachers (4 of them) a Maxwell Williams 'Kimono' mug each. They're stunning and at 30% off were super cheap yet a beautiful gift. They were so impressed and grateful for them and loved the personal messages I'd written on each card alongside DD's personalised drawings. They actually said they were the most thoughtful gift they'd ever received I was stoked.

We gave DS2 teachers in the infants & primary department a decorated Christmas fruit cake that my mum made & I decorated. It was an absolute hit and they really enjoyed it.
