Schoolkids bonus WILL be paid in Jan '14

I have a question though. For the chance that someone can help (but I doubt it...)

I just updated DD1 to be attending secondary school next year, but our address is still WA. I'm moving back to NSW in Jan, so she will be in secondary school, but year 7 in secondary isn't compulsory here in WA til 2015.

So will I get the amount for secondary school, even though I may not have changed my address by the time its paid? (Starting the move around the 15th Jan, address change probably won't happen til around the 21st.) Or is it possible I'll only get the primary allowance?

Kids are starting secondary year 7 here, so they may have included that already I guess

it will be based on the state and high school expectations on the test date (jan 1) so your dd will be assessed as being in WA and may not receive the higher level of payment

oh :/ Is there anything I can do about that?? It still does say year 8 for WA on the website, even though its all changing.

Woo hoo! So how much is it for primary aged children?

It's around $200 each & was paid twice a year. Before that it was a bit over $400 once a year at tax time.

I always do my ftb as a lump sum claim at tax time. Will i get this then? Dd stars kinder this year

It will depend on whether kindergarten is deemed to be school aged on your state. If you are be titled to it, it will be paid with your lump sum at end of financial year
