13 tomorrow ideas for finding present?

My firstborn is a teenager tomorrow
I have her until lunch as she is going to her grandparents (on the other side) after lunch. I only have her one gift and I want to make it a little more interesting then just handing it to her. Can anyone suggest ideas as to how to prolong her finding it if that makes sense?

Depends on what the gift is I suppose, but one year i was given the key to the shed wrapped up with a note...low and behold there was a shiny new bike waiting in there just for me :-)

For my partners birthday one year I drew a treasure map which led her to a big X on her back wind screen. She had been driving around with her present in her car boot for a week.

A treasure hunt is always fun. And you can control how long it takes her to finish the hunt too when designing the hunt.

We did one for dh's birthday this year. The clues were pretty easy and I put some random presents along with each note, to bulk it up a bit, but the hunt took a few mins out of the day. Admittedly it would have taken longer if the children hadn't helped him with it.

What did you end up deciding??

We ended up doing a treasure hunt starting with a map that she only got one clue to work out what the map said if that makes sense. So the map was not written using writing but shapes so she had to work out what each one was before she was able to read the steps to find her present. She had a great day
