I've been using my cup full time for a while now...at least 6months, was using it part time for months before that. But I still get leaks...
I think I've figured it out that it overflows, this is deffinently what just happened, but the thing is, it only took an hour and it was full.
Does anyone else get this? Have a really heavy flow and still successfully use a cup? Or have you had to use other products?
Tia
Is your cup big enough?
I have endo and ridiculously heavy periods. I always had to wear a pad for the first 2.5 days. I just ever knew when the cup would runneth over. Sometimes, like you say, it would happen within an hour of last emptying.
My cup is large.
I sympathise.
It's so frustrating, ever since Spock was born I have a day of constant flow and then a week of spotting. It's like I loose my entire lining all at once!
Maybe I will look into a bigger size...it's just turning me off having to run to the loo every hour
Yup, I've got a ridiculous flow (when it comes) and used a cup for my last two periods. I actually found it awesome, because now I can tell doctors almost exactly how much I've lost in mls, rather than how many pads I go through in an hour. I saw on Embarrassing Bodies that a normal flow is 60-70mls over the whole period, but I lose that each day for the first 4 or 5 days of mine. So now I get believed, yay!
Anyhoo, it is a bit annoying to empty the cup hourly, but I figure it's a lot less annoying than changing 3 pads an hour and getting blood all over my inside thighs and constantly smelling that smell. Can you buy some cloth pads so you're not wasting money by wearing a pad backup?
I've always had to wear backup pads, no matter what I did (tampons and cups). So no help here, but lots of sympathy. I had to start setting a few alarms to change overnight, because otherwise I'd wake up in a patch of blood, and when I'd stand up, it would just gush down my legs lol.
