First period after giving birth.

DS is 14 weeks old and my period has come back, boo! I am ebf so am a bit disappointed that it has returned so soon.

My period has never been regular and always been quiet heavy but this one is heavy even by my standards. Back to using maternity pads! No clots but bright red and quiet a lot. Only a small amount of cramping so at least that's one positive.

Have others found this also with their first postpartum period?

I did. Mine returned straigh away, in fact it was so close after giving birth I wasn't sure if it was still post parturition bleeding or my period. And I even went to the dr about it because it was so heavy. I had a couple of hours where I honestly thought I was going to bleed to death it was just pouring out of me.

Spock is now 19months and it was been regular (30ish days) since, and deffinently heavier compared to before giving birth. Not as crazy as the first one, but still heavy.

Can't remember with DS but AF came back when DD was 13 months and the first one was a little heavier than normal for the first day then went back to normal. Mine have always been light though and even postpartum bleeding never lasted very long or was very heavy (Feel free to hate me, I know!).

My friends have all said that their first few were heavier than normal though.

AF came back at 5 minths with both my DD and I was EBF. Came back normal with DD1 but after DD2 it was very very heavy and long. I went on medication twice to stop the bleeding. DS is nearly 8 months now and I still have not got AF. Not looking forward to it returning.

Yep, with all 3 the first one was heavy.

Another here that had a heavy first one. Mine also came back at 3 months PP.

I'm ebf as well and first one came back at 8 weeks while it wasn't Heavy it did last a total of 9 days. Normal cycles previously were 5 days.

After DD1 they didn't come back for 14 mths and were a little heavier then usual but only lasted the 5 days
