a day in the life of an almost 2 year old.

wake up. big sister jumps in your bed and reads you a story.
get up and have breaky. eat your sister s breakfast even though she has cow milk that makes you sick.

discover you can open the fridge. reach for shredded cheese bag, spill on floor. mum cleans up and tells you to stay out of fudge.

have shower with big sister. sit on couch while mum has quick shower. wee on floor.

mum gets out. run away from mum. fight getting dressed. dressed.

play with penis. leave penis pointing up and slightly out of nappy. wee all over t shirt, shorts... run away from getting dressed again. get nappy and pants on.

climb on tv cabinet to reach remote that is balancing on top of tv. mum removes remotes and tells you not to climb.

climb on bookcase to reach remote from new hiding place.

    remotes get moved again.

    try to climb bookcase again.

get bored with climbing. go back to fridge. try to get bottled berries from fridge. oops, berries and juice all over floor and fridge.

mum puts you in her room so she can clean up.

    big sister lets you out.

mum puts you and big sister in her room and turns tv on, so she can clean up again.

    watch tv. jump on bed.

big sister runs down to mum, 'DS has big blood everywhere'. mum runs down hall to blood covered ds. grabs towel to try work out where it's coming from. big sister 'I just watching tv, mum'.

    Oh Master E...... REALLY!
Did you find the source of the blood?

Hope they are now resting up... Wishful thinking right?

    Blood or berry stains?

Thank goodness DD (also nearly 2) cannot open the fridge yet. Not sure why not, she can open everything else.

    sorry, lost reception.

wrapped ds up in a towel and drove him to drs (prob overkill, but I couldn't work out where all blood coming from and im 8 months pg, so there).

receptionist helped mum wash some of blood off. I told them my mouth was sore. lip is source of blood, but bc it's on inside no stitches.

    home again, smoothy for lunch.

head out for drive, fall asleep in car. lip opens up again. I look like Dracula.

    # ll, would have preferred berry stains! bedroom looks like a crime scene. waiting til dh gets home to do the Clean.

Oh no, so it was actually blood! I thought it was just remnants of the berries!

2yr old boys are soooooo different to girls.

I don't even have the energy to put into writing the amount of things my terrible twosome get up to each and everyday, but if one does something then the other has to do it as well, just because.

The latest is to strip naked at every possible opportunity x 2, and then fight me every which way to get at least a nappy on again, and don't get me started on the climbing and remote control issue either lol.

I gotta laugh! DS couldn't have been further from that at almost 2. His day was...cling to mummy, cry if mummy so much as moves, insist on being carried everywhere. Never climbed, never tried opening the fridge....almost makes me think I've missed out on something! 3

JLeigh - I actually think it is the 'perfect storm' of around 2, being a DS and being a second child that creates such antics - so you may not have missed out - this may just be a window into a couple of years from now :-)

Oh no HotI, totally understand the full on 2yo stuff though. Grr it's so exhausting. DS has an obsession with opening fridge and eating all our fruit. Wouldn't mind if it's here and there, but last two days he's taken 2 apples out each day and eaten them. And he would have eaten more if id let him. Lots of hugs.

Poor mum. Poor tired pregnant mum. I hope mum has been able to put her tired feet up a bit.

DS2 can open the fridge and freezer. We have freezer on bottom so he's only able to pull stuff out of the freezer ATM but he'll be able to reach into the fridge soon.

The pantry is the bad zone for us. He grabs glass bottles off the bottom shelf and proceeds to drop or throw them if I'm not quick enough.

Oh and the bin. He loves the bin. We didn't have these issues with DD. Same fridge. Same bin. Don't think we did with DS1 either.

    DS2 is a ratbag.

Hope tomorrow is a better day, HotI.

So, #3 will be much less adventurous???

Poor little boy is quite sore today. He has a flap of skin from the inside of his lip, and i think it might come off. He hasn't wanted to eat much of normal food (unusual for him), but has had 3 bananas and 2 smoothies today. Of course, it hasn't stopped him climbing on furniture or jumping off.

Last night i was starting to clean up the mess and blood in the bedroom. DS came in and i asked him how he hurt his mouth. "I jump" he told me, and then climbed on the bed and tried to reenact the accident for me! No, bubba, please don't jump. no more jumping on the bed, ok?
