Fever THEN sore throat

Dd2 had a fever for 2 days of around 38.2 with no other symptoms apart from headache. 2 days after last fever she now has a raspy voice and sore throat. What's up with that? Doesn't the fever and sore throat happen simultaneously.

Not necessarily. My DS had the exact thing happen on Monday and it turned into a light cold (fever, sore throat, blocked nose, irritated throat) then after 2 days it's pretty much cleared

No, they don't have to be simultaneous, I can recall many occassions my boys have had fevers without ant other symptoms, only to develop cold like symptoms the next day or so.

Another virus that has the fever first and then otehr symptoms is hand, foot and mouth disease, I'm not sure if a sore throat is associated with that one though.
