Does anyone know if you can email centrelink with your situation and have them then suggest what benefits you may be eligible for?
I tried calling centrelink but the lady on the phone didn't understand my situation as it's a bit involved. Thought it might be easier if I could put it in writing for them. Does anyone know if that's possible?
You need to call the disability/carers line and speak to a consultant. if you feel you are not being understood, ask for the claim forms to be sent out, apply, and see what the outcome is. email communication is not going to happen. you can email requesting contact, but it may be several weeks or longer before you get a call back - and then it may not be someone that can help you
Thanks Briggsy's girl. I tried calling but the person I spoke to couldn't even tell me which child I was receiving carers allowance for. I guess I'll just re-apply for both and then they can disregard the one that has already been processed. Do I just need to ask them to send out paperwork for carers payment? Then I just apply and see what happens?
If you get someone in disability you'll be able to talk to them about who you get allowance for. Then they can send the relevant paperwork for you and also mark your intent to claim so that you mig be paid com that date (if you get all the paperworkrk in within the right timeframe)
