How do people cope with small children and chronic sciatica? I've just gotten home from hospital, already had my first fall and have a 5mo, 2yo and 6yo to look after. In agony all the time and physically cannot walk without collapsing, nor can I walk more than a couple meters with the assistance of a walking frame.
I had it pretty bad during pg and weekly physio helped get me moving again. I need to get back to physio again, but hoping it will be better post baby.
do you have spinal damage causing it?
Regular Physio and lots of regular stretches. But depending on the cause of the sciatica would depend on the management. When mine was structural (disc compression causing inflammation causing sciatica) it was different - I was reliant on Physio 3 times a week.
Sorry to half hijack, I was just wondering what people who have/have had it what your symptoms are? The past 2-3 weeks I have had my limbs just go numb randomly (I have carpal tunnel normally but this is my whole arm and leg happening) and it can be while I am walking or sitting or lying down, any time really! and I also get a shooting pain in my limbs too (again completely randomly, no particular cause), particularly up my thigh to my hip. I don't have my next appointment for 2 weeks but would like to be fully prepared with info. I'm 18weeks pg, with the pregnancy in my right uterus (I have 2). I didn't have any issues when I had my first in my left, so I'm suspicious of the uterus pushing on the nerve that runs up the entire right side.
Again sorry for hijacking!
