    Another question about crinone....again!

    Hi ladies,

I'm doing another unmediated FET today & I'm still torn whether to take the crinone gel even after they told me I don't have to. I asked my FS about it last time & he said I don't need it & suggested a BT to see what my levels were before taking it, but I didn't do the BT I just took the crinone anyway. I just feel like I'd be doing something extra to help the embie. Any advice?

    Ya.

I wouldn't. Quite apart from anything else, crinone is really expensive to buy and once you start you have to keep going. If you don't need it, it's a waste ( and the side effects are yuck).

I would do (and have done) the BT to check levels. Ended up needing progesterone shots as well. If I had crinone already I would use it. Like n2l mentioned - it's expensive, but you could always switch to pessaries later?

Anyway, I'm sure if your FS says you don't need them then you probably don't. But they will do no harm (side effects excluded...) & I'm a bit like you - would rather feel like I'm doing something. Good luck. : )

Thanks ladies! N2L, you are right hun, $500 a box! Crikey! I spoke to my nurse today and she said my levels were good on Monday, so there is no need for support, but if I really wanted to, to get a prescription for pessaries from my FS. I think I'll just get the prescription, but I'll see how I feel in my head over the next few days with it. My nurse sounded confident my body is doing what it should be doing, so I will just wait. But $500 a box, holy cow! lol

Andie, thanks hun, I was so ready to do the crinone but talking to my nurse eased my anxiety. I didn't have any support for my FET with my DS so I guess I have to take comfort my body is not going to fail me in that department (I mean as far as the progesterone levels go).

I was in the same anxious head space but decided not to take them - and look at me now! Your body CAN do what it needs to when needed! But I do get the anxiety about it. It's a tough decision. In the end I was glad I didn't it was such an easier ride without the meds. Xox

As always I'm crossing everything for you xox
