12 month vac reaction

Hi all,
I'm not really sure if this is the right place to post this, but my boys had their 12 month vaccinations over 2 weeks ago.
7 days post, both boys spiked temps up to 39.6 and developed conjunctivitis. Today is the 8th day of temps, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
They have been to the gp to be checked out. One had an ear infection as well (yay!), so was started on antibiotics and both started Chlorsig eye drops.
I had thought they were getting better, but today we were up to 39.6 again.
I'm really over it, and just want the boys better again. Also feeling really bad that they are so sick over something we choose for them to have.
I rung the immunisation hotline today, and they couldn't give me a time frame of when you might expect things to start settling down, although the immunisation handbook suggests only 2-3 days!
Has anyone experienced this post vaccination, and when did things start to settle down again.

I know with some specific vacs a standard reaction can occur (slight rash, temp, irritability) 10-14 days after- i remember reading this in the vac notes with DD but can't remember which ones except it was at the 12 and 18 month ones. The ear infection and conjunctivitis may be coincidental. Though if you're worried about the fever just take them in to get checked. Trust that mama instinct!
