if I am halving the ingredients of a huge cake (300g butter, 6 eggs 4 cups flour etc ) do I halve the cooking time? Cake requires 2 1/4 hours to cook on a low heat (140) so I was thinking around 45-1 hour and cooking on 150 instead.
Don't talk to me about cakes, I just stuffed one up majorly, that I am meant to be bringing to an Easter dinner tomorrow. Let's just say it's now in the bin grrrrrrr.
What type of cake are you making?
I can't even be bothered making anything else, so I might have to find a cake shop that's open tomorrow :-(
Oh no saffy I made a vanilla cake, it's really yummy. But the recipe is HUGE. So I just halve it and it turned out great. Also you just put all the ingredients in a bowl and use electric beaters and it still comes out beautiful. So easy!
