Does anyone know if I can lodge my newborn paperwork at my Medicare office instead of going to the centrelink main office? I have just filled out the PPL app online, but I need to lodge the paperwork from the hospital.
You can, but it's actually better to post it in the reply paid envelope with your newborn pack. If you post it, it goes straight to Canberra and is scanned on your file within a couple of days. If you take it to Medicare, they have to collect it and the send it to Canberra and, depending on the site you lodge your form at it may take a couple of weeks to get to your file.
The sooner it hits your record, the sooner it can be checked and processed
