Hi all, DD1 will be 8 in Sep and still wetting the bed, we started going without a nappy in Jan with 50/50 success but since summer has ended and the weather getting cooler we've gone backwards to one dry night a week. Went to see our GP who suggested getting bed alarm. Looking on the internet there is so many options and large varying prices.
So for those who have used one what brand do you suggest? Were they quite successful?
Thanks!
Have you seen a continence nurse? I think I'd try that option first.
My dd is almost 9 & wets twice or more a month, but she has other issues that contribute.
I only know of one person who used an alarm, unsuccessfully. In the end she started taking it off while asleep. But it may help you get an idea of the time of night it happens & a chance to prevent it.
I have a friend that has used one for all three of her kids, one daughter two sons. She waits until summer the year they have just turned 7. She says its a week like having a newborn with frequent waking and then bam they are sorted. I'll ask her the brand if I remember good luck
It's a tough problem that isn't talked about much, well at all!
My DS2 just turned 7 and before Xmas he was wetting the bed more nights that not. Our Dr wrote a script for some kind of wafer that melts in his mouth and tells the bladder to hold it in for hours (don't hold me to that info!). I filled the script but never gave it to him as just talking to the doc seemed to help. But in the past month he has started wetting the bed again, say once or twice a week. I need to find those wafers!
When I was a kid I had problems with wetting the bed. Always had the dream, but never woke up in time. For me it was an allergy to milk, I had dark blue circles under eyes as well (another sign off milk allergy). Stopped wetting when my parents took me off milk.
To this day if I have a glass of milk it messes with my ability to feel when my bladder is full.
