DD has a cold and a slight fever. This morning she had the dried snot over her nose and also one eye was all crusted over, but i thought it was just the snot cos there was so much of it. I cleaned her up, but all day her eyes have been getting a little green gunk in them. They don't look sore and aren't red and she isn't rubbing them. Could this just be part of cold symptoms? She is eating a little bit, having all milk feeds and is cranky on and off.
I don't want to take her to the GP if it's not necessary, I was there last week with her and all was ok, just a fever.
Sounds like conjunctavitis to me, there are two types viral and bacterial. Viral conjunctavitis is usually accompanied with cold and flu type symptoms. It's highly contagious so be sure to wash your hands often etc to prevent you from getting it too. Obviously, don't send her to childcare if she goes. There are eye drops you can buy for it, but I've heard that breastmilk is awesome for clearing it up if you're still feeding.
