Ok so I have visibly seen worms in all three kids ewwww I know! Creeps me out! Youngest being 6 months. And went to see pharmacist and treated me like an idiot telling me babies don't get worms and that he can't have treatment so I have to see doctor.
Has anyone had a child around 6 months treated for worms and if so what dose etc were they given. Can't get into see GP until next week!
He has never seen a doctor before and I have his first appointment coming up in a couple of weeks. Don't really want to go to the doctors every week for the next three lol especially because last minute doctors around here are crappy and wouldn't know anyway.
I ended up ringing Rodney Whyte at monash medical and spoke to one of his colleagues so I got the type of medication and dose now. Just have to go back to the pharmacy!
I think it goes by weight etc doesnt it? For sure there are products for babies! and how weird that he said that babies dont get them hahaha! Worms discriminate i guess
My DD was a bit older then your bubba, but my dr and pharmacist said she could use Vermox and I think the dose was around 2.5ml. Can't remember her age at the time, around 8/9 months I think. She didn't have worms, my eldest did, but we were advised by the gp to treat everyone including bub
Surprised none of the kids can have those as they contain dairy haha.
Was back on phone today and yep you are right Rosetti at 6 1/2months (he's about 8kg) he can have 50mg mebendazole (so 2.5mls)(vermox). They said any younger and the drug is not recommended but they'd have to find that out for younger but I didn't ask as I was fine for my kids.
Now to get rid of these gross little creatures :/
Thanks for your replies.
And highly recommend ringing the Rodney Whyte at monash number for any enquiries they were great and very helpful.
Yes it is Tegam he works at monash he has colleagues to so they answer phone as well when you call. Sometimes you have to call quite a few times to even get through.
It's on google, just google Rodney Whyte and his name and contact details come up.
