Antibiotics left out of the fridge?

My DS has been prescribed a course of antibiotics this evening, they need to be kept refrigerated. We are traveling to Melbourne on Monday. The ABs will be out of the fridge for a minimum of 8hrs - is that too long?? Would they still be effective after that time? By the time we leave, he'll only be half-way through the bottle.

If I need to buy a small cooler pack I will, was just hoping to be traveling light and not taking unnecessary baggage.

Do you have a wine bag or insulated drink thing? Pop them in there with a small ice pack.

I personally wouldn't risk it - you don't want them being ineffective and having to have another course.

Freeze a prima/ up'n'go and pop it in an esky. It'll act like an ice block. Also, you should be able to grab a chill bag from the pharmacy. I have used the prima ice block many, many times to keep EBM cool. It works well

    Good luck!

ahh, I thought as much!! We only have large insulated bags. Guess I will look for something a little more compact when I head out later.

Thanks for the prima ice block trick - never thought of that!
