Snail problem

We have sooo many snails in our backyard and garden. They come under the pergola too. There are tracks everywhere. I have a lot of pot plants and use snail bait on them. I have a pot of spring onions that is FULL of dead snails. I once read that snails can be dangerous to toddlers and babies, is this true? And does anyone know how to get rid of them?? TIA

Only dangerous if they eat them raw.

Otherwise, beer traps work well without hazardous chemicals around your garden. When DS was little, we had snail issues, only they could get in the house. Ewww. The little blighters were everywhere until DH blocked their underground access.

Eta: to get rid of them from our garden, we moved. If you live in a damp area, like near a stream, they will come. Now we have very few, but still get them.

Thanks, what are beer traps??? We don't live near any water and the house isn't damp either......strange?

Beer traps are beer in a glass. They get in and the alcohol stops them from climbing out again.
