Gifts for the postie/garbo/people you don't really know
Do you give yours a gift?
I'm looking for ideas. Our postie is awesome as are our parcel people. The garbage man is pretty cool too. So I'd like to put a gift out for them this year. In the past I have given a 6 pack of beer or choccies, but having thought about it I don't know if they would like those things so would prefer something more....universal? Plus choccies here would melt if they had to be on a bike/in a truck for a couple of hours rendering them useless. It's already a million degrees.
My dad was a garbage man and he got so many different things, but I remember him not having much use for many of them.

I like to give ambient perfumers or scented candles but only because I have a warehouse full of them. Maybe for a garbo it might be taken the wrong way.

I just put it in an envelop - brightly coloured and sticky tape to the lid of the mail box, with TO THE POSTIE, on it. Seems to have worked, I live rurally, so not a lot of traffic past my mail box to make it disappear though.

Connie, anything that's a bit hard to put in my mailbox he brings down to the front door. He's lovely and often waits for the kids before he drives off, so I see him often lol.
Scratchies or a gift card are a great idea!

My dad was a Garbo and no, not all of them do. It's not about the pay though. Policemen and women don't get double time on Christmas day and no one leaves them gifts
It's about saying thank you for being kind to us throughout the year.
