Tell me about your trip to hawaii please! I came up with a fantastic idea to go to hawaii and to my shock dp agrees it's a tops idea. I am wanting to go in april/may next year. Online says that's the best time to travel there.
What time of year did you go?
Where exactly did you travel to?
Did you take kids?
Where did you stay?
What did you do there?
Overall how much did your trip cost?
Any other advice appreciated.
Love love love Hawaii! Went when DS was 2y4m last year - I was also pregnant. We went to Big Island and to Oahu (Waikiki).
Lots of things to see and do, as well as lots of time for relaxing and shopping.
Very very kid friendly, easy to get around, lovely locals and beautiful surroundings.
Big island was much quieter, where as Oahu is more touristy, but still a must see/stay.
We stayed at Hilton Resorts in both places - the one on big island is huge - has a monorail to get around it, as well as a dolphin sanctuary - we all went swimming with dolphins - and turtles - that like to swim in resort lagoons with you! Great pools too!
Hilton resort in Waikiki - was great too - private beach front, great pool for kids with water slides (my DS us a waterbaby so loved it) as well as kayaks etc.
We stayed in the more "exclusive" tower which also had a private pool just fir guests there which helped as when we were there it was quite busy!
We got great deals online for our hotels, as well as our domestic flights within Hawaii.
We flew Jetstar over which was fine - we got tickets on sale for less than $700 each return including bag fees etc.
There is loads to do, we did walking treks, helicopter tour, shopping, beaches (including black sand beach), turtle spotting, pearl harbour, diamond head etc

We took our 2.5 year old and loved it! We stayed in Waikiki only and found there was plenty to do there. Be sure to visit the zoo and the Ala Moana shops - a massive shopping centre!!
Thanks ladies! I think I want to stay at the hilton village in waikiki. We are going with another couple and they want to book through a travel agent so we are off to get that sorted over the weekend. Eek I'm so excited!!
Sahbear I'm glad you mentioned you were pregnant when you went because we are hoping to be too. If we are lucky enough to fall quickly we should be late 1st tri/early 2nd tri. How far were you and did you find it hindered anything for you?
I was 8 weeks pregnant when we went... Yep, the ****tails was the only thing I missed out on, and I had a bit of morning sickness, but that was manageable.
