    Wakes up suddenly

I noticed my son suddenly wakes up before night time sleep, I'm doing everything that I can for him to fall asleep and he is sleepy, his eyes are closing, he is not moving and he seem to be sleeping in my hands. Then suddenly he opens his eyes wide open, moves his hands and feet almost like he is hipper and makes talking noise. It's like he forgot that he was sleepy! He completely wakes up!
It takes me a good two hours to put him back to sleep.
I have notice it twice already, is it normal? why does it happen??? help please.

Hi, how old is your son? Different sleep habits is normal between different children, and are completely different to us adults

He is 10 weeks old tomorrow.
So it's normal and I should be concerned?

Unfortunately yes =) your son is still so tiny, infact he could still have the startle reflex, which does exactly that, you know when you fall asleep and feel you are falling and jerk awake? Could be something similar to that, but he is still so brand new he doesn't actually understand that it is sleep time etc...

Wrapping might help with the startle reflex, a light muslin if it's too warm.

He probably won't do it if he's cuddled up against you.

I used to find wrapping mine up tight helped a lot, it made the startle reflex more subtle
