    German Measles

Last week DS daycare centre had a confirmed case of German Measles in the nursery room. He was absent last week due to Hand, Foot & Mouth (again).

He is 20 months old and fully up to date with his immunisation so is he immune?

His 18 month immunisation was done on the 9th January. When he had it done they told me they now include the MMR in this lot. I did google and it did say if he has had 2 lots of MMR then he should be immune?

    Thoughts Girls???

He should be immune but you can't be 100% sure without having a blood test to check his immunity.

    Re: German Measles

Vaccination is not the same as immunisation. But with 2 booster shots, one very recently, he should fight off the infection before becoming symptomatic, which is classed as immune.

There is a teeny, tiny chance he is not immune, but I would consider your DS safe to go to care. I'd send mine in that situation.
