Well this is a very quiet forum this month! When I visited it a couple of weeks ago I got lost in all the posts! Where is everyone? Maybe there's something in the water, and our little ones are keeping us all so busy that we don't have time to visit...

An update on Little Mr Charlie - he's crawling, pulling himself up to stand, walking around furniture, standing while only holding on with one hand, opening drawers and generally wreaking havoc! He's turning into such a fun little guy now (especially now that we are getting more sleep!) that we've decided that we're well and truly ready to have another one, and we're on the case, so to speak. Charlie is supposed to be having his first swimming lesson today - my brother's girlfriend used to run infant learn-to-swim classes and offered to come down to the pool with us - but it's just started raining here, so we might have to make it next weekend. Bugger.

There are some babies with gorgeous names in here this month - I especially love "Amelia Jane" (is that Enid Blyton inspired?). Hope that everyone is well, and I'm looking forward to chatting with you all... that is, when you actually write something!

OMG! I was so lost when I camr on this morning, but I have found my room now.

This is a little confusing, as I just got to know the other girls and now I am here, but that's cool, I can annoy them by butting in if I have time.

Hi Kellee, I am an epic poster I guess you could say, so you will hear from me that's for sure, but we have been busy this weekend. Sounds like Charlie is moving ahead very quickly. As is my Jessica, who is not thinking of her poor mother at all.
She sat up 4 days before she was 6 monnths, commando crawled 4 days after, and yesterday at almost 6 and a half months she decided to show off her fantastic abdominal mucles. She was lying on her back and sat herself up from the lying position. I have never seen anything like it and she is my 4th. My others didn't do that! And to top it all off I found her first tooth this morning. She hasn't been drinking much at all, less than 500mls a day, and I knew it was teeth and there you go, it's there. She thinks she is very funny.

We went to the greyhound racing on Sat night and the kids had a ball. Arron is working at the moment and the kids are playing hide and seek.

I might try to get back later as I have heaps of emails to check.

Oh my goodness, Michelle... sitting up from lying on her tummy... like when you do a sit up? That's scary! The lucky thing will never have any problems with a pot belly like me! Good on her. Congratulations to her on her first tooth, too. How did she go? Hopefully it didn't distress her too much.

Went opp-shopping today and picked up a very cute pair of pants for Charlie for about $2. I have become addicted to opp shopping, and it doesn't help that there are 4 different ones less than 500m from my house! Sometimes I walk away with nothing, but other times there are some great bargains to be had. Once my mum found 10 Zappy nappies for $1 each, and they were virtually brand new! I will have to go again tomorrow... it gives me a reason to get out of the house too, as I tend to go a bit mad if I stay within these four walls for too long.

I too will be checking this forum quite regularly. I am addicted to another site (a WW spin off one) that I check numerous times a day, and I hope to be able to visit here too. I enjoyed reading everyone's posts in this forum, but I got very confused, as so much seemed to happen if I missed checking even one day! Anyway, little boy to feed, bath and put to bed, and then ME time! Hooray!

Hi girls, Haven't been around for awhile due to not being able to keep up with the posts. Well maybe now things are a little slower I may join in again. Amelia was my dh grandma's name. We added the Jane cause it went. Had no idea about the books until she was born and anounced the name.

Wow. Both you babies are doing sooo well with their development. Here I thought Amelia was doing well but she is way behind you guys. She just started sitting for 2 min today, got her first tooth on Friday, She does inch herself forward when trying to get an object, while on tummy. She also rolls both ways quite well. She also says mummum and bub and since the tooth she now says lalah I think cause she likes feeling the tooth.

We got potrate place photos done of her which I will put on the baby web page when scaned. She is sooo cute in the photos.

They grow up soo quickly. We are in the planning stages for #3 Prb start ttc in june for an Autumn 2006 baby.

Hi everyone

well officially tommorrow i will be in here as lani will be 6mths.

she is going well - not rolling (have put a post in general bubs section) and waking during the night when she was sleeping through (have also put a post in that section) - she will sit unaided for around 30secs to 1min and when on her back can put her head up to do a stomach crunch but nothing like jessica michelle - i thought lani was going to have good abs but jessica's are going to be wonderful lol.

rose - ttc #3 good luck - i remember your post not long after lani was born and i mentioned i would love another one and you said we might be ttc buddies - that won't happen in the near future (read punching bag re dh lol) but you never know maybe later in the year if we get our s--t sorted out - i will be 37 in october so if we do decide to go ahead and my dh has sorted out his problems i am aiming for ttc when lani is around 12mths old - that is if she is sleeping thru - ahh i knew it my other 2 were great sleepers i had to get one with a problem lol - seriously not a major issue atm as lani and i are both tucked up in our beds in around 10mins time.

about to head out, I seem to get side tracked though as when I come on there are a million notifications and so it takes an hour to get through them.

Yes Jessica's abs will be super strong, I actually have never seen a baby sit up like that, it is amazing to see.

Rose don't worry about Amelia being behind, I find different babies do things in different orders, eg Jessica is definetly not talking, Amelia must sound so cute saying those words. Good luck for ttc no.3, How many are you going to have? Is the 3rd the last?

Michelle- It's funny how you can do the same things with your babies but they can all be different ie Lani and sleeping.

Kelle- I really am not into op shops, maybe it's the smell. But I know that there are some great bargains to be had, we only have 1 in my area anyway and its a church one, not much there.

Well must go or I willl never get anywhere today. joshua is the School council rep for his prep grade (or in his words SRC Prep) and he is being presented with a badge this arvo, and I want to go and take some pics of him up on stage.

Wow - so much has been written even since yesterday! You gals are quick off the mark!

I don't think you should worry, Rose. It seems (in my limited experience) that babies develop either verbally or in terms of motor skills first. Charlie isn't talking at all yet (which is funny, because his parents are both chatterboxes!), but he's learning in other ways. I think that we (parents in general) have a tendancy to get worried every time our babies aren't doing what other babies are doing, but we have to remember that they are all different. DH and I are also ttc at the moment, but as I haven't got my period since Charlie was born it makes it difficult to know what's going on. I think if I test every few weeks that should be ok... who knows? Good luck with yours, too.

That is so cute about Joshua being the SRC Prep, Michelle. I am a school teacher (music) and the lower grades have always been my favourites. Good on him.

Sorry to hear about your lack of sleep, mooshie. I hope that you get lots of responses to your post and that you're able to find some solutions. Have you thought of getting in a "baby whisperer"? Charlie was NOT sleeping through the day (he's a stubborn little guy and would cry whenever he went near the cot in the day) but we got someone in to help us a couple of weeks ago, and now he's doing much better. Let us know how it goes.

I live in Geebung, Christy... but I don't set myself a budget, which is very naughty as I have been known to spend quite a lot! I buy clothes for myself too, as I am on a weight loss crusade and can't see the point in buying new clothes if they are going to be too big a few weeks later.

we hi there girls

here we are 6mths today (boo hoo) well 6mths at 11.03pm lol.

took lani for her needles today and mentioned to my gp about her skin on her tummy and back and yup just as i suspected she has excema - thankfully only a mild form so i insisted on a skin allergy test (was hard to get) but i needed it as my ds had allergies and at this age he was allergic to dairy and i was giving him formula which upset him no end until he went onto soy - they tested dairy, nut and soy and thankfully nothing came up - so that is a big relief - i wanted a wheat one done as i am a bit suss on the wheat as she first came up with yucky skin after having a rusk unfortunately the gp does not have the wheat test so i will be getting a referral to the childrens hospital allergy centre later in the year for further testing on lani if required but mainly for ds and his nut allergy before he starts school - need to know if it is life threatening and if he will need an epi pen.

the gp gave me an interesting sheet on solids etc on babies with allergies and i was surprised that it is recommended that corn not be given until 18mths (i gave her a tin of heinz - a few saturday's ago - this is take away night lol) and the next day she got a funny rash on her face almost like someone had pinched her cheeks so this explains it. am also just bathing her in qv and smothering her in sorbelene - so fingers crossed she will grow out of it and it won't spread to her pretty little face, it seems to flare up when its hot so i have to make extra sure she doesn't overheat and just dress her in cotton.

anyway no needles today cause of the skin test so next week she has her shots - we don't like it but she gets over it lol.

hope all is well oh and btw lani went to bed at 7.30pm woke at 12.30am then fed for around 2mins before i stuck the dummy back in then she didn't wake until 7am so hopefully she is going back to better sleeping. i think alot may have to do with hunger she was so cranky today when i was eating lunch so i grabbed a tin of custard and she gobbled it up plus had a breastfeed - so i think i will put her on 3 meals a day.

sorry for the epic - hope all mums and bubs are well, i am off to do my on line grocery shopping - so much easier.

Rose Ditto to what Kelley said, I agree with it all. Boys and girls are also very different.

Michelle- I have to book Jessica's needles too, and Jemma has terrible excema at the moment. I bathed her in the QV flare up oil and then used the QV cream, and it has really improved. She has it on torso back and front and elbow and knee joints as well as on her bum. I was so sad for her. I believe it is just soap allergy, but you have given me the idea to ask for the test just to make sure.
Let's hope Lani was just hungry and she starts sleeping well again.

Well Arron just booked a trip to QLD to see his brother from the 3rd-7th of June, so that is really something to look forward to for me. I have ordered the DrPhil books, Relationship rescue and the workbook, so we can try to sort something out. We both think we shuld see a counsellor but don't want to make it public knowledge to our families and they are our only babysitters so we really can't do that. So I hope the books have something to help us.

Jessica seems to be drinking better today, maybe now that the tooth is out she is hungry again. She is commando crawling everywhere and thinks she is so very clever, sadly she is and it's not fair.

hi girls

woohoo lani slept from 7.30pm to 7am this morning wiyh not a peep - difference yesterday was i gave her 3 meals of solds. fingers crossed we have nipped it in the bud.

michelle - i also got a cream which my neighbour told me about it is called Elidel which apparently has no cortizone (sp?) i asked my doc she said yup perfect for lani and gave me a prescription for it apparently costs around $40 so i will get some tommorrow for the flareups.

i also read on the ecxema forum re a old method of using oats in the bath, so last night i got some normal no name brand oats put them in a stocking and hung it on the tap whilst running the bath, it goes all milky and i squeezed it out and rubbed it over her body - jay jumped in to, then i smother her in sorbelene (with glycerine) and her skin looks fantastic today so hopefully i will only need the cream occassionally. good luck with it all.

i am off to read the other forums cant type to well, lani is on my lap and trying to help.

Glad to hear that Lani is sleeping better. Let's hope it's a sign of things to come!

BTW, Charlie gets some eczema too, and we found that a combination of Alpha Keri Bath Oil and Pintarsol Gel worked a treat.

Charlie has another tooth! It came from left field - he slept well last night so we didn't suspect a thing. I only found out when Mum put her finger in his mouth and found it! He was a little grizzly this morning, so that makes sense. It makes a nice change from when the other two came through - that was horrid.

Anyway, DH has taken Charlie out for about an hour, so I must go and sleep while I have a chance! Will write tomorrow if I have time... hope you're all fabulous!
