Is it normal to cut 4 teeth at once?!

My son has already got his two bottom teeth. In the last 24 hours he has cut 4 more, his top front ones and the eye teeth either side of his bottom front ones. He is miserable and in alot of pain and nothing I do helps him much.
I thought they cut one or two teeth at a time, not 4 Is this normal?

Anna, I wouldn;t have said so until I saw my son Charlie cut 4 at once........he had two molars and two fangs at teh same time: all 4 came up within 48 hours. (You can only imagine teh chaos in our house whilst that was going on, LOL!) He was around 15 months at the time................

All I can suggest is cuddles and panadol..............

    Hi Anna,
My DS cut his first 4 teeth all at once at ten months. I was getting worried that he wasn't getting any teeth at all and then BAM - he had 4!! Did make him miserable though!
    GOOD LUCK.

My DD got her first four teeth all in the one week.
    It was HELL.
I'm sorry your little one is having a rough time.
Look on the bright side, at least it's getting it all over and done with.
My littlest one has taken two weeks of sleepless nights to get his first tooth....how many more to go?!

    Hi there.
My son cut 2 at a time, four times. So he had 8 teeth for a long while, and then he got another 8 (4 eye teeth and 4 molars) in a 1 and a half week period!!!

Charlie had 6 come up all at the same time pretty much when he was 7 months old. Then again at 11 months old, he got the remaining 14 come up all in the space of about 2 weeks.

At around 7 months (can't remember exactly!) Tallon cut 5 teeth all at once. He had one little tooth at the bottom for a while, then bam, the one next to it and the top 4 came all at once. Then he cut the next 2 at the bottom together, then just 1 next to them, and now he's cutting 2 molars together. I actually loved that he cut so many at once - get it over with!

Kimberley always cut two at a time and her's came quickly. Alex on the other hand has been so much slower with cutting his teeth i am still waiting for the two year molars to appear.

Most we've had is 2 at once so i totally sympothise and only imagine what it would be like with 4 and an upset bubba!!

Like the others have suggested, lots of cuddles and some panadol hopefully will help.
