What does the tooth fairy do at your place?

Well Paris lost her first tooth on Sunday night (and by lost I mean it was hanging on by a thread and I gave it a mini tug and it was out... meanwhile she's still telling me not to hurt her LOL) and I had to send an email to the tooth fairy to tell her that she wasn't to visit on Sunday night because Paris wanted to take her tooth for show and tell. So that was all good, come monday night she left her tooth in her little tooth fairy pouch.

This morning she woke and was sooooo excited she found her money and it was covered in fairy dust, there was fairy dust on the bedside table and all over the carpet where the fairy must have flown in. Although I don't think the tooth fairy thought too long and hard about the vaccuming of said fairy dust (but it wasn't too bad).

I know tooth fairies do different things from house to house, and I was just wondering what the tooth fairy does at your house? At my gf's house the tooth is left in a glass of water, and when the tooth fairy comes she leaves money in the water and magically changes the colour of the water.

What does your tooth fairy use the teeth for? Our tooth fairy uses it to make fairy dust which is why we must all brush our teeth very well otherwise the tooth fairy won't be able to make very good fairy dust.

Did I mention get as excited about the tooth fairy as much as Paris does?

    *hugs*

aaaww that's cute - almost makes me wish we had one.
The tooth fairy where I grew up was really dodgy - she was bit of a joke. Sometimes she took a week to show up and she was a bit erratic with the cash, sometimes she was really stingy and only left 20c but other times she would have a spurt of generousity and leave paper money (this was in the old days whne money was paper and the $1 and $2 were paper). On one occasion she put the note in the water not under the glass but it dried out ok lol and another time she must have been feeling a bit povo because I just got a pile of change (1c and 2c) that totalled about 30c.
Mum always told me that our tooth fairy was a bit of a lush lol and I found out just how true that was when I lost a tooth at pony club once. I demanded that about 30 people stopped eating lunch to look for it (they did too!!) and it was never found but when I got back to my pony there was 50c waiting on my saddle cloth. You have no idea how impressed I was by the speed of the pony club's tooth fairy.
    aaahh the memories......

The tooth fairy leaves $1 coin here under the glass where the tooth was (tooth in water) she made a big mistake and got over excited when DD1 lost her 1st tooth and left $2 and regretted it so she learnt her lesson by the time DD2 needed her! She doesn't leave dust (good idea though) and she uses teeth to make new teeth for babys (DD2 decided that LOL) When I was in hospital having Riley she forgot to come when Erin lost a tooth!!! but I said it was cause Erin was sleeping with daddy and she didn't want to wake him so she waited til mummy was home and Erin was back in her own bed LOL
The worst tooth fairies seem to come to only children of rich parents and leave $10 for a front tooth and everyone at school hears about it and wonders why they got ripped off!!

Ho Hum.... The tooth fairy at our place says she didn't know any better, she thought that was the going rate for the first tooth, however she promises me it will be half that for every other tooth.

I love the water changing one!!

When we were little the tooth was left in a glass of water & in the morning, the water & tooth were gone, replaced with a coin. We only got $1 or less, but that was heaps 20 years ago!

    10 yrs ago!?!?!?! Sheesh...

I heard a few $20 & $30 and I thought those tooth fairy's were only making a burden for their own backs. So I think thats why our tooth fairy settled on $10 for her first tooth and from what I hear she tells me it'll be $5 for the rest unless she swallows one then she'll get pity money LOL!

When I was little and losing teeth we lived in a 2 story house. I used to tell mum "look ive lost a tooth" put it in a glass of water and then sit it on the table ready to be taken up stairs to my bedroom. Mum would then come along pick up the glass of water and drink it not realising a tooth was in it. She drank 5 teeth in total. Tooth Fairy still came though and used to leave $2 at the side of the bed. Nothing fancy like what they do now with Fairy dust and water changing. $30 and $20 is ridiculous for 1st teeth too. Im gonna ask my boss for a pay rise if it comes to that.

Wow @ loosing a 1st tooth already !!! I thought we didn't have to worry about that for a couple of years yet ROFL.

The tooth fairy that came to mums used to leave money (i think 50c) in a glass of water.

    Love

Our tooth fairy's been known to forget for a night or two then get guilty and leave an extra special treat. However, a gold coin appears to the standard trade!
