    Cheesy Vegemite Scrolls

If anyone is looking for something simple, fun and tasty to make with the kids, here is a great recipe (taken from Woolworths Fresh magazine)
    Cheese Scrolls
    Prep: 20minutes
    Cooking 20minutes makes: 12

    2 cups of self-raising flour
    50g butter, chopped
    3/4 cup of milk
    1 tbs Vegemite, warmed
    1 cup grated Cheese

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Sift flour into a bowl. Add butter and , using your fingertips, rub into flour until combined. make a well in the centre.
    2. Pour milk into the centre. Using a spatula, stir until mixture is almost combined. Use your hands to gather the dough into a ball. Knead gently on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Roll out dough to a 24cm x 36cm rectangle.
    3. Spread vegemite over dough then sprinkle with cheese. Roll up dough and cut into 12 slices. Place scrolls onto the baking tray, close together and with the tail ends towards the centre. Bake for 20mins until golden.

To warm Vegemite, measure the amount into a small bowl or cup. Stand in a slightly larger bowl of hot water until spreadable.

My girls enjoyed making this one, and they're pretty tasty too.

Maggie loves Cheesymites!! I do think though that part of it is the buy of them as the lady at the counter always hands it directly to her. Should make some for her, but with wholemeal flour.

I made some of these yesterday to take to a Mother's day morning tea at dd2's school. I made them that morning so they were nice and fresh. I'd made them for the kids, but the mums ate them all!!!!

How do you think these would go if I froze them after cooking?

Totally fine If you're doing them individually in zip lock backs, otherwise if you want to put them all in the one bag freeze them on a tray and then put them all in a large zip lock bag (this stops them from sticking together in the bag).

I'll definately be making these for DF's lunch - Bakery stuff has been given the arse as it's so expensive so he'll be stoked....
